Posha Briár

Posha Briár is an artist from the South Side of Chicago. Formerly known as Posha B, Briár discovered her hidden gift through pain—transforming life’s hardest moments into purpose through art, healing, and music. Over time, her journey evolved into self-expression, as creativity became her pathway to truth and restoration.

Early in her journey, Briár struggled to fully find her voice. Through writing, recording, and emotional honesty, the studio has become a therapeutic space where she learned to translate pain into power. By blending vulnerability with rhythm and melody, she uncovered a sound that felt both authentic and freeing.

Drawing from Pop, R&B, and Hip-Hop/Rap, Posha Briár has created a genre-defying sound she calls PopRapNB—a seamless fusion of pop melodies, soulful R&B emotion, and raw hip-hop lyricism. This innovative blend sets her apart in today’s music landscape, allowing her to move fluidly across genres while maintaining a distinct and recognizable identity.

Her love for music runs deep, inspired by her grandfather, Chuck Barksdale, a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame legend from The Dells. She lives by his words: “Experience isn’t the best teacher, it’s the only teacher.” Those experiences—both painful and transformative—sparked the creation of her song “Enemies” and continue to influence her upcoming projects.

With unwavering dedication to her craft, Posha Briár uses music as a tool for healing—not only for herself, but for others. Fans can expect a dynamic wave of new music and innovative performances that push boundaries, honor vulnerability, and firmly establish PopRapNB as a sound of its own.
